Wayana and Trio

In the early 1960s World Team started to work with the Wayana and Trio tribal groups in the South of Suriname (S.AM.). The translation of the Bible into the local languages took place in different villages. The second, revised, version of the Trio Bible was completed in 2018. The second revised Wayana Bible will be printed in 2020. Tribal leaders reach out to tribal groups in the Guyana’s and different tribes in Brazil. For two years a local Bible school has been training future leaders in the jungle. In 2012 World Team missionaries began Watch-Care ministry in order to finalize the mission work and connect the tribal churches to churches in the city.
