Ideally and frequently the initial discovery comes via prayer or from a passionate leader. World Team then uses a Phased Approach we increasingly Pray, Research and Communicate the needs of a people group. Through each phase, we trust God to show us whether this is His design for us to engage in this ministry. If so, the new initiative is approved and we seek out workers, pray-ers and finances.
The World Team Global Alliance is a global structure and forum for assessing and implementing WT’s global vision. It provides input and accountability for the ministry vision and direction of the agency. The Alliance is comprised of WT’s International Director, Assistant International Director, Sending Country Directors, Sending Country Board delegates and global members from outside WT who are invited to serve based upon their expertise. In addition to providing input and accountability for the International Director, the Alliance helps integrate new Sending Countries and ministry partners, approve the WT Global and major project budgets, guard the fiscal integrity of WT, call and release the International Director, and foster greater global resource sharing.
Besides currently having mobilisation bases in three (3) countries, World Team believes in partnership with like-minded agencies who have a heart for establishing churches that will multiply themselves. We know that we cannot do the work alone, and we desire to be part of the global church by partnering with other agencies around the globe.
In 2002, Tim Keller published a brief article entitled “Why Plant Churches” that has become a staple concerning the necessity of church planting. He writes, “The vigorous, continual planting of new congregations is the single most crucial strategy for 1) the numerical growth of the Body of Christ in any city, and 2) the continual corporate renewal and revival of the existing churches in a city.” His words echo the much-earlier claim by C. Peter Wagner in his book Church Planting for a Greater Harvest: “The single most effective evangelistic methodology under heaven is planting new churches.”
The World Team Ministry Framework is a graphical document bringing clarity to who we are and what we do. Four core areas form a framework within which we carry out the Innovation, Multiplication and Expansion of our vision, all to the glory of God.
- Our mission tells what our role is as a global mission
- Our guiding principles tell how we approach our work
- Our central ministry focus tells what we must do every day to be effective
- Our organizational culture tells what kind of atmosphere we will work in
