A large percentage of Cubans would describe themselves as atheist. This is the result of 60 years of communism. The only religious groups of any size are Catholic, who are mainly nominal in their faith and Evangelicals, most of whom are in services every Sunday and during the week. The percentage of evangelicals is rising steadily in Cuba.
