Suriname (Hindustani)

Main Language

Dutch

With its diversity of languages and cultures and a former Dutch colony in South America, Suriname offered many opportunities to reach Hindustani with the Gospel. The Hindustani (also known locally as “East Indians”) are Hindus and Muslims who emigrated from northern India in 1873 as indentured laborers. The Hindustani are the least Evangelized people group with only 8 professed to be Christians.
