Germany, despite being the land of the Reformation and the economic leader of the European Union, has seen church attendance decrease over the last two decades. At the same time, church closings have increased. In East Germany it is even more extreme, after 40 years of communism it is now considered an atheistic capital in Europe. More than 52% of East Germans believe in no God at all. World Team is collaborating with Deutsch Inland Mission (DIM) to plant churches in the city of Cottbus in East Germany. Recent research shows that 85% of the people in Cottbus are not affiliated with any religion. Working with DIM, World Team workers are planting churches in Cottbus .The work in Cottbus will include starting house churches, neighborhood outreach events, and possible new opportunities with migrant ministry.
