The Muslims people in East Asia have been some of the most unengaged and unreached people groups in the world. While the economy, education and standard of living have been improving in East Asia over the last few decades, this people group largely remains the same because religion and tradition have a strong grip in their lives. Due to religious practices and dietary requirements, this people group congregates together in community, and are not particularly open to outsiders. There are lots of political changes in recent years, making it difficult for foreign workers to go and be witnesses among them. In recent years the East Asia team has made progress in building bridges in the community, tutoring and helping some illiterate families while providing counseling to some young families in distress.
