Dan and Lisa Friesen married in 1992, and in 1993 spent their first anniversary at the RBMU candidate orientation program. They arrived in Cameroon in 1997 along with their 7 month old daughter Rachel. In 2006 Friesens also adopted their son Joshua. Friesens served as advisors to the Oroko Language Development Association. Over the years they served on the field Leadership Team and Language Coordinator (Lisa) and as Field Treasurer/Administrator (Dan) as well as participating in Global working groups on resiliency (Dan), and the new ADR (Lisa). In June 2018 Lisa took over as Cameroon Field Director from Dan, as Dan prepared to move into the Africa Area Director role.
